Muireann-Other interfaces
looking at other apps/ websites with a similar concept to Sirenhttps://disasteralert.pdc.org/disasteralert/I like the use of symbols to differentiate the different types of disasters we could come up with our own one for Covid 19. Doesn't feel personalised and kind of confusing I feel there should be a user interface asking the person their location age. As the closer, Covid 19 is the higher the risk and age because Covid 19 due to HSE website has higher risk on certain age groups mainly having serious effects on the elderly and the very young. I like the use of the map we could put one in Siren but having it more personalised with the location.
https://www.redcross.ie/firstaid/ I downloaded the first aid app and found the set up very user-friendly as I was first greeted with what location I am to tailor it to my own personal use being able to access notifications and also what I liked was that gives me little set up notes on where things were when it was opened for the first time
Then when compared to their website and how they translated that across it was more information about other things they did rather than like the app which is more for personal use. Which we could translate across having additional info that isn't necessary for the app use.
https://www.met.ie/met-eireann-warning-system-explained Then I looked at local sources such as Met Eireann and the well-known colour system for the weather which Could be translated into siren on the severity of the warning to that person in their locality and the risk
STATUS YELLOW - weather Alert - Be Aware
STATUS ORANGE - Weather Warning - Be Prepared
STATUS RED - weather Warning Warning - Take Action
We could use the colours to mean similar things such as be aware, be prepared and take action
